Run your Randal & Selitto tests with accuracy using SDI’s pressure analgesia meter, designed to allow you to view the pressure through the duration of the test-ensuring reliable capture of data.
Exert pressure gradually and uniformly in your Randal & Selitto tests using SDI’s pressure analgesia meter. A stepper motor will control the advancement of a support with a conical tip that applies pressure to the animal’s paw. Mounting the motor and tip to a pivoting stand prevent excess pressure from being applied.
You will have a digital display that read s a constant tip pressure in grams, and also enables you to adjust the force transducer, balance, zero the trial, and set the stepper motor speed.
Pressing a foot pedal turns on the pressure analgesia meter motor and moves the stimulation tip down. Once the distal extreme of the sliding support track is reached (or when the pedal is released) the motor will automatically reverse and slide the conic tip back up.
The final pressure value remains on the control unit’s digital display until a new trial is started. If you employ the SeDaCom software, your data will be captured and stored in an ASCII formatted file for further analysis.
