The hand held Pressure Applicator is used to apply a force to the extremity of the test subjects. With the meter showing continuous readings of the force applied.  The last maximum force applied(Peak) during the test is held in the meter to allow recording of the Peak force for each animal.  The Pressure Applicator has a flat side and a probe side.  To test an animal place the pressure applicator probe under the paw.   Close the pressure applicator until a reaction occurs and then release the Pressure Applicator and the electronic unit will capture and hold the Peak pressure.  The pressure is shown in grams.  After recording the Peak pressure use the provided foot switch to reset the meter for the next test.  The foot switch allows hands free operation of the meter. 

An acrylic stand comes standard with the equipment which allows easy viewing of information on the portable meter. The meter is powered by 9V battery (with approximately 50 hours of operation) or by a power adapter.  Both are supplied with the meter.

The hand held Pressure Applicator weighs a mere three ounces with an accuracy of 0.5%.  A test weight is supplied for accuracy check.  No calibration required.  Additional Pressure Applicators can be purchased.

Animal Stand with sling

This is an optional product that increases ease of use by holding the animal during the paw pressure test.  This product has two components; Rodent Sling System consisting of the stand and posts and a sling of the correct size for the animal.
